BuiltSimple brings technical execution and creative direction together to make getting online simple.

Our Story.

BuiltSimple started with a problem Justin knew firsthand.

As a musician, educator, author, and small business owner, he needed the same things many independent professionals eventually need: a website, a logo, marketing materials, and a way to get his business found online. Rather than hiring someone else, he learned to build them himself. What started out of necessity eventually became a skill set of its own, and BuiltSimple grew from the idea that other business owners should not have to spend years figuring all of this out themselves.

Meanwhile, longtime friend Aron had taken a different path to many of the same places. With a background in graphic design, branding, video, multimedia, and marketing, he had been developing websites and visual identities for small businesses from the creative side.

Eventually, the obvious became obvious: they were building essentially the same business from two different directions.

Justin brought the technical execution, systems, detail, and experience turning websites into functioning business tools. Aron brought visual design, branding, creative direction, user experience, and a client-focused approach to understanding what makes each business different.

So instead of building separately, they joined forces.

Today, BuiltSimple combines those strengths around one idea: make getting a professional online presence simple for the people who have better things to do.

We work closely with business owners to understand what they do, what makes them different, and what they actually need. Then we handle the design, technology, branding, and details required to bring it together.

Because the website is not really the end product.

Helping a good business look professional, get found, and grow is.

Founder

Justin Cahoon

Justin is the founder of BuiltSimple and the technical and operational force behind its websites. A musician, educator, author, and entrepreneur based in Providence, Rhode Island, he holds dual degrees from URI, has published six piano method books, and founded UME: Unique Music Entertainment, serving Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Before BuiltSimple, Justin spent a decade teaching, performing, publishing, and building the digital infrastructure for his own independent ventures. Along the way, he learned firsthand how much time small business owners can lose trying to piece together a website, logo, marketing content, and online presence on their own.

That experience became the foundation for BuiltSimple. Today, Justin focuses on web development, SEO, deployment, performance, systems, and the details that turn a design into a reliable, functioning website. He is most motivated by seeing a finished site help a skilled business owner get found, earn trust, and grow.
